Cruise Routes on Sydney Harbour (Port Jackson)

Port Jackson - This is the territory enjoyable for your trip!!

Port Jackson, containing Sydney Harbour, is the natural harbour of Sydney, Australia. It is known for its beauty, and in particular, as the location of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The harbour is also used during the New Years Eve Fireworks and the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.

 

 

Place 1  Darling Harbour    Meeting Point      Karaoke 

Darling Harbour is a locality of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia with a large recreational, pedestrian precinct. It is situated at Sydney central business district. The locality extends northwards from Chinatown, along both sides of Cockle Bay to King Street Wharf on the east, and to the suburb of Pyrmont on the west. Cockle Bay is just one of the waterways that makes up Darling Harbour, which opens north into the much larger Port Jackson.
The precinct and its immediate surroundings are administered independently of the local government area of the City of Sydney, by a New South Wales state government statutory authority, the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.
The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour was a key meeting venue of APEC Australia 2007 in September, 2007 at which time the political leaders of the 21 member states of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation met.
 

 

Place 2  Harbour Bridge    Cruise 

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular, and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore. The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of both Sydney and Australia. The bridge is locally nicknamed The Coathanger because of its arch-based design, although this usage is less prevalent than it once was.
The bridge was the city's tallest structure until 1967. According to Guinness World Records, it is the world's widest long-span bridge and its tallest steel arch bridge, measuring 134 metres (429.6 ft) from top to water level. It is also the fourth-longest spanning-arch bridge in the world.
 

 

Place 3  Sydney Opera House    Cruise 

The Sydney Opera House is located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site on June 28, 2007. Designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon and Ove Arup & Partners, the Sydney Opera House is one of the world's most distinctive 20th century buildings, and one of the most famous performing arts venues in the world. It is situated on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The building and its surroundings are one of the best known icons of Australia.
As well as many touring theatre, ballet, and musical productions, the Opera House is the home of Opera Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Sydney Symphony. It is administered by the Opera House Trust, under the New South Wales Ministry of the Arts.
 

Place 4  Royal Botanic Gardens    Cruise 

The Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, Australia, are the largest of three major botanical gardens open to the public in Sydney, along with the Mount Annan Botanic Garden and the Mount Tomah Botanic Garden. The park, managed by the same trust as The Domain adjoining it, is free to access and open every day of the year.
The Botanic Gardens are situated overlooking Farm Cove, directly east of the Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay and Macquarie Street. On the southern edge the Cahill Expressway borders it and on the eastern edge, Art Gallery road.
 

 

Place 5  Elizabeth Bay    Cruise 

Elizabeth Bay is a harbourside suburb in eastern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Elizabeth Bay is located 3 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district and is part of the local government area of the City of Sydney. The postcode is 2011.
The suburb of Elizabeth Bay takes its name from the bay on Sydney Harbour. Macleay Point separates Elizabeth Bay from Rushcutters Bay. The suburb of Elizabeth Bay is surrounded by the suburbs of Rushcutters Bay and Potts Point. Kings Cross is a locality on the south-western border and Garden Island is a locality, to the north.
Elizabeth Bay House is a historic home managed by the Historic Houses Trust in Onslow Avenue with views across Sydney Harbour. It was designed by John Verge in the Regency style and is listed on the Register of the National Estate.
 

Place 6  Double Bay    Cruise 

Double Bay is a harbourside eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Double Bay is located 4 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre of the local government area of the Municipality of Woollahra.
Double Bay takes its name from the bay situated on Sydney Harbour. Double Bay refers to the two geographical formations between Point Piper and Darling Point, which are interrupted by a miniature point in between. The eastern part is also known as Blackburn Cove.
Double Bay is an affluent residential suburb surrounded by some of Sydney's other most affluent suburbs. It is adjacent to the suburbs of Point Piper, Bellevue Hill, Woollahra, Edgecliff and Darling Point.
For many years Double Bay was the most fashionable and expensive shopping district in Sydney. It has since lost some of its status to the Sydney CBD and increasingly to the nearby Bondi Junction. Double Bay is the location of some boutique hotels and is well-known for its restaurants and cafes.
 

 

Place 7  Rose Bay    Cruise 

Rose Bay is a harbourside, eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Rose Bay is located 7 kilometres east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government areas of Waverley Municipal Council (east of Old South Head Road) and Woollahra Council (on its western side towards the bay).
Rose Bay borders Vaucluse to the north, Dover Heights to the east, North Bondi to the south-east, and Bellevue Hill to the south-west. Lyne Park abuts Sydney Harbour, on its west. Shark Island is located in Sydney Harbour, just north of Rose Bay.
 

Place 8  Watsons Bay    Cruise 

Watsons Bay is a harbourside, eastern suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Watsons Bay is located 11 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Municipality of Woollahra.
Watsons Bay sits on the end of the South Head peninsula and takes its name from the sheltered bay and anchorage on its western side, in Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour). It provides spectacular views across the harbour to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Gap is an ocean cliff on the eastern side with spectacular views to Manly at North Head and the Pacific Ocean. Vaucluse is the only adjacent suburb, to the south.
 

 

Place 9  Shark Island    Cruise      Fishing 

Shark Island is an island in Sydney Harbour, Australia. It lies offshore of the Sydney suburbs of Point Piper, Rose Bay and Vaucluse, in the eastern section of the harbour between the Harbour Bridge and the harbour entrance.
The local aboriginal peoples call the island Boambilly, or perhaps Bo-a-millie. The name Shark Island is from its shape, which is claimed to resemble a shark.
The island measures some 250 metres by 100 metres. Parts were set aside as a recreation reserve as early as 1879 and it was also used as an animal quarantine station and naval depot up until 1975. At that time it became exclusively a recreation reserve and part of the Sydney Harbour National Park. Approved operators and a scheduled ferry service take people to the island.
 

 

Place 10  Taronga Zoo

Taronga Zoo is the city zoo of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Officially opened on October 7th, 1916, it is located on the shores of Sydney Harbour in the suburb of Mosman. Taronga Zoo is managed by the Zoological Parks Board of New South Wales under the trading name, "Taronga Conservation Society", along with Dubbo's Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
Divided into eight zoogeographic regions, Taronga Zoo is home to over 2,600 animals on 21 hectares, making it one of the largest of its kind.

Kirribilli House is the official Sydney residence of the Australian Prime Minister. It is most commonly identified as the primary residence of former Prime Minister John Howard, from 1996 to late December, 2007. The house is located at the far eastern end of Kirribilli Avenue in the suburb of Kirribilli.

Luna Park Sydney (originally Luna Park Milsons Point) is a historical amusement park, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Luna Park is located at Milsons Point, on the northern shore of Sydney Harbour. The heritage-listed park first opened in 1935, although its 70-year history includes multiple closures, changes of ownership, legal battles, and community action in both support of and opposition to Luna Park's operation.
Luna Park Sydney is now the premier theme park in Sydney, after the demise of Fantasy Glades, Sega World, and Wonderland.
 

Place 14  ANZAC Bridge    Cruise 

Anzac Bridge, formerly known as the Glebe Island Bridge, is a large cable-stayed bridge spanning Johnstons Bay between Pyrmont and Rozelle in proximity to the central business district of Sydney, Australia. The bridge forms part of the Western Distributor freeway leading from the Sydney CBD and Cross City Tunnel to the suburbs of the Inner West and Northern Sydney.
The ANZAC Bridge is the longest cable-stayed bridge in Australia, and amongst the longest in the world. The bridge is 32.2 metres (105.6 ft) wide and the main span is 345 metres (1131.9 ft) long. The reinforced concrete pylons are 120 metres (393.7 ft) high and support the deck by two planes of stay cables. Initially the stay cables were plagued by vibrations which have since been resolved by the addition of thin stabilising cables between the stay cables.

Manly is a suburb of northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Manly is located 17 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district and is the administrative centre of the local government area of Manly Council, in the Northern Beaches region.
Manly is most notable for its beaches which are popular tourist destinations. Manly features a long stretch of sand on the ocean side, that runs from Queenscliff Beach to North Steyne Beach and Manly Beach. This is followed by rock pools and sandy beaches called Fairy Bower and Shelly Beach. Norfolk Island pine trees are also symbolic of Manly and are a prominent feature of both the ocean and harbour-side beaches.

Place 18  Tasman Sea
The Tasman Sea is the large body of water between Australia and New Zealand, some 2000 kilometres (1250 miles) across. It is a south-western segment of the South Pacific Ocean. The sea was named after the Dutch explorer Abel Janszoon Tasman, the first recorded European to encounter New Zealand and Tasmania. The British explorer Captain James Cook later extensively navigated the Tasman Sea in the 1770s as part of his first voyage of exploration.

Place 19  Sydney Heads

Sydney Heads (also simply known as 'The Heads'), is the entrance to Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour) in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
North Head and Quarantine Head are to the north, South Head and Dunbar Head are to the south. Middle Head, Georges Head and Chowder Head are to the west and within the bay. The Hornby Lighthouse is located on South Head and is Australia's third oldest lighthouse. Macquarie Lighthouse, Australia's first lighthouse, is a few kilometres to the south on Dunbar Head.

North Head is a headland south-east of the suburb of Manly. It is part of Sydney Harbour National Park. The headland is a promontory of sandstone and is 3.85 square kilometres in area.

South Head is a headland, part of Sydney Harbour National Park, to the north of the suburb of Watsons Bay.
 

Place 22  Middle Head    Cruise      Fishing 

Middle Head is a headland between North Head and South Head, beside Middle Harbour. It is part of Sydney Harbour National Park.
 


Place 23  Balmain    Fishing 

Balmain is a suburb in the inner-west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Balmain is located 5 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Municipality of Leichhardt.
Balmain is located on the Balmain peninsula in Port Jackson adjacent to the suburbs of Rozelle to the south-west, Birchgrove to the north-west, and Balmain East to the east. Iron Cove sits on the western side of the peninsula, with White Bay on the south-east side and Mort Bay on the north-east side.

 

Place 24  Birkenhead Point    Fishing 

Birkenhead Point is a point in Port Jackson, in the suburb of Drummoyne, New South Wales, Australia.
The area was once largely industrial but it is now the home to Birkenhead Point Factory Outlet Centre, marina and apartment complex. Birkenhead ferry wharf provides access to the area, as well as Victoria Road which has up to twenty bus services from the city to major centres further west.
 

Place 25  Cockatoo Island    Fishing 

Cockatoo Island is an island in Sydney Harbour in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The island was originally used as a prison and later developed as a shipyard. Many naval ships were built and maintained at 'Cockatoo Island Dockyard'. The shipyard was closed during the 1980s.
In late March 2005 the island was re-opened to the public for the 'Cockatoo Island Festival', after two and a half years of planning. The island is currently managed by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust who plan to revitalise the island as a landmark harbour attraction, with commercial maritime activity operating alongside interpretation of the island's heritage.[4] From April 2007, the island has been open to the general public with daily ferry services from Circular Quay.
